Welcome to Fin Factory's Yaktoberfest!
To enter the tournament, there is an entry fee of $75 per angler. Additionally, there is are 4 optional side pots with a fee of $20 if you wish to participate. Registration opens on Friday, September 8, 2023, and closes on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 5:00 PM. If you miss the deadline, don't worry! Late registrations will be allowed at the Captains Meeting or the Weigh-in Location the morning of the tournament prior to launch.
The Captains Meeting will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Fin Factory Kayak & Tackle Co. in Corpus Christi. Although the Captains Meeting is not mandatory, it will be an exciting event that you won't want to miss. While highly encouraged, if you can't attend in person, it will be live-streamed.
The tournament itself will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 6:15 AM to 3:00 PM. You can participate as a solo angler, a 2-person team, or a 3-person team. Each participant must pay the $75 registration fee, and teams must be identified no later than 6:15 AM on the day of the tournament.
The boundaries for the tournament include all publicly accessible inshore coastal waters that can be accessed by kayak. Lines can be cast at 6:15 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2023. The weigh-in will start at noon, but anglers must be in line no later than 3:00 PM at the Boat Stop Marina.
Awards will be given out at the ceremony from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The tournament ranking will be based on the heaviest Texas Slam, which includes Redfish, Trout, and Flounder. Bonus weight up to 2 lbs (1 lb each) can be added for a C.P.R. Black Drum and Bull Red. In the event of a tie, the weigh-in time will be considered, and a deduction of 1/2 lb will be made for any dead fish weighed in.
The winnings for the tournament are as follows: 1st Place - 50%, 2nd Place - 20%, and 3rd Place - 10%. Additionally, 20% of the tournament proceeds will be donated to Heroes on the Water - Coastal Bend Chapter, a wonderful charitable organization.
